Great review! Do you think sporting events would continue to happen if gambling was completely abolished? Sports spread betting and online spread betting are just two forms of gambling that are keeping certain sporting events going. Snooker for instance has a big following but most of those fans actually bet on the winner of the tournaments. I wonder if betting was outlawed if it could keep it’s fan base?
Moved to Seattle in 1991 to help start the alternative weekly newspaper THE STRANGER, where he worked as the Film Editor and lead film critic for nine years.
In 2000, he started freelancing, and was soon working in the Seattle film community writing, producing or directing short films, and sometimes all at once. He has also become a well-respected Script Supervisor on feature films, having worked on the Sundance 2005 critical hit POLICE BEAT and the Toronto and NYFF hit THE BRAND UPON THE BRAIN! by crazy Canadian filmmaker Guy Maddin, among other films.
Do you have a different opinion of the film/event/post? Did I get my facts wrong? BY ALL MEANS LEAVE A COMMENT. If you don't want to use your real name, try and come up with a more interesting pseudonym than "Anonymous," and if you would rather contact me directly, do so at andyspletzer@gmail.com.
